Island Songs is a collections of songs from Icelandic composer Ólafur Arnalds. Island Songs was a seven-week recording journey throughout Iceland in which each song was recorded in a different location with members of the local community. Featured community members vary from poets, to story tellers, to choirs, and even Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, the co-lead vocalist in Of Monsters and Men.
You can listen and view the map on his website. My personal favorites are “Particles,” which was recorded in Garður, and Doria, which was recorded in Arnalds hometown of Reykjavik.
